Grad 2006

If you recall, last year I complained about how boring prom was:

...what am I saying? They were boringly well-behaved! No dancing, no hooting and hollering... They all left by 10pm. And they call me an old foggey... sheesh! Maybe next year, I'll just have a dinner at the local diner and that'll be it!

Thankfully, I didn't have to book our local greasy spoon for our meal. As many colleagues said, we had a very different graduating class this time around. Grad 2006 makes Grad 2005 look like a funeral. Grad 2005 sucked so much that the only prom picture we had in the yearbook was of my sister, Mrs Midler and myself dancing... This year's prom was great, it was fun. The kids stayed well past 10pm (although some had limos picking them up at 10pm, I blame the Grand Prix weekend festivities for that, limo companies were charging triple their usual fees). The food was delicious (and one totally orgasmic dessert, trust me on this one) and the DJs were not too shabby for highschool graduates.

Here are some pictures... enjoy!

Too many corrections, too little time

I have a crapload of corrections to do and I have no clue if I will finish them on time, on time being by Friday... yeah, well, ain't gonna happen folks by that deadline. Maybe by Monday. Maybe...

Classroom clean-up is not done yet. I might wait until the very last week. We'll see...

My belly is getting in the way

And it's not only the sleeping position, but I must readjust everything I do, even my teaching... I'm hinding it hard to talk the way I used to, I guess it has to do with my breathing and my lungs and/or diaphragm being compressed or something like that.

I've started cleaning up my room and I sense it will take a wee bit longer than anticipated. At least I got most of my bulkier boxes of books down to the bookroom earlier this year, with the help of The Dave, the rare student I can trust sending down there alone. I can now send him down there and not worry about the room becoming a mess.

Hopefully, it won't get too hot this week and I can get more boxes packed. I'd like my clean up to be done by early next week.

Stay off the roads!

Stay off the roads because I now can officially, legally drive. Yep, I got my driver's license this morning and, although I botched my parallel park, I am considered a safe driver.

But still, if you want to stay off the roads now that I can drive, that's fine. I can always drive onto the lawn your standing on ;-)
