Teaching... in all it's beautiful, chaotic and often insane glory

Congrès a success!

Presenting my workshop today was a blast. I was initially nervous since this was my first workshop ever (in an animator capacity), but once I got the ol' ball rolling it was great.

I really would like to do this again next year.

Thank you!

Thank you bschneider5 for posting a comment, you are my very first commenter! It always feels great when someone (other than your friends and some of your students!) takes the time to read your posts. Merci! Thank you once again!

And now for something completely different (tm)...

...tomorrow is Da Day! Da Presentation Day at AQEFLS... Am I nervous? Am I excited? Am I going to throw up and begin screaming jibberish in some kind of paranoid, existential fit? Hmmm... I just hope I don't talk too fast. Note to self: breath between each sentence.

Big thanks to Madame Devey for helping me edit my PPoint slides. I get too wordy sometimes.

Oh.......My......God.....So.......Shiny!

ohboyohboyohboyohboy....................

....gaaaahhhh....I can't put in to words...................woah!

I just saw the Serenity trailer on Apple. ohmygodohmygodohmygod. I want to cry it was so beautiful. It was just like imagined... it was jsut like I thought when I finished watching the series and starting thinking about characters...what they were, who they were. River, ohmygod, River kicks ass!!

I think I will be taking September 30th off.

A jell-O-like consistency

I feel like jell-O this morning. Even though I worked out this morning, I feel half-congealed, half-set... Apparently my students feel the same, so I am not too concerned. If they feel off and I feel off, then the entire dimension is a wee bit off.

My students didn't show up for filming this morning. Meh, their loss. I will see what brilliant excuse they will come up with.

Later folks...

Yummy nummy dinner!

My hubby made this too-too delicious meat pie for dinner last night... add some garlic escargot, some lovely marinades, awesome company (Mamzelle Ali et Môssieu Carlo) and you get a fasntastic dinner.

Watch Ranma... but fell alseep for a few minutes during the movie. When I came too, Ali chimed goodmorning (I think)... I hope I didn't drool.

I still had great night.

Yummy nummy breakfast

I had smoked salmon this morning... leftovers, but I wish I could have this every morning!

Ranma-extravaganza tonight with Môssieu Carlo and Mademoiselle Ali... I haven't seen the Ranama movie in a while so this is going to be fun!

By the way, Sasha has told me that she did cry, thanks to this no good dweeb... we'll call him O. ... who basically really pissed her off and touched a nerve. I sit corrected, Sasha.

Boy, am I spent...

Sorry for the long hiatus (?) but it's been crazy.... craaaaaazy I tell you at school.

Our mega day of Field Trips on Friday went off without any major existential problems, which is good because I am filling in for my collegue on maternity leave, good ol' Miss Carrière, and she is awesome in the planning of such school-wide events. I try my best to make sure things go smoothly, delegate various tasks (thank you Sasha!) and organise fun activities without breaking down in tears in a massive anxiety attack. Sasha took care of that, without the crying though. She'd be more likely to pound the living crap out of whoever is pissing her off...

I got the proverbial "props" from my principal, Angela; once in our staff meeting and again in a personal thank you card. She's great, she gave me a truck-load of support and I can't thank her enough.

If I get permission from the right people (aka parents), I will put up pics of the Sports day and Comfy feet day we had on Wednesday and Thursday. Note to self: wearing "Da Craw" slippers at school is bad if one expects ones feet to be comfy... I was dying, my feet were in some kind of airtight sauna that ressembled fuzzy feet in sandals. Next year, I'm going for flipflops.

Hopefully things will die down from now until June. I have to finalize details for grad and plan one last fundraiser, just because I love giving myself work. I'm slightly neurotic that way.

My conference is in 2 weeks... must..... start....practicing.... any volunteers to listen to me ramble on in French. Oh wait, must of you do that already.

Hey Carlo, this is what I did this weekend!

Let's see, it all started Friday night with some cleaning and correcting. Yes, the highlight of my Friday was an evening of judging and evaluating ethics tests. (actually, I watched this really cool bio of the comedy group Rock et Belles Oreilles... awesome, gotta get my hands on some of their DVDs)

Saturday: baby shower. Cool. Got to meet an old "nemesis" of mine. I use nemesis in quotes because, well, I think we always kinda competed in highschool. But it's not like we went into full vendetta-mode when we saw each other... It was more like "So, you got a doctorate degree in math, eh?"

And then that evening, I babysat in CoH. Some dude needed me to sidekick his toon in a Wolf farming mission. Gained 2 levels in about 2 hours. Ethically, it's reprehensible. But now I am 44 and happy (gee how many women can say that!)

Sunday: Soccer, more correcting.

Frag, I can't wait for report cards to go out. I am tired of all of this. No more of this " I'm going to give my students 2 essays this week." Boy, did I ever learn from my mistakes!

Viva La Monday!
