Teacher, Entertainer, Stand-up comic?

I knew I had talents, but I tend to be modest, or at least I *try* to be modest...

This morning in TAG (homeroom), 2 kids were playing with quarters, flicking and tossing them around. Annoyed, I told them that they shouldn't be throwing money around like that because one day, money will come back to haunt them in the form of taxes.

To my surprise, Anthony, one of my more stable students in that group, bursts out laughing telling me that it was quite funny.

I'm happy. I have fans. My "lame-cornball-ohgodthatwaspainfultomybrain" humor has fans. Yay!

So I am a teenager...

... according to what a student told me. Bryan is a kid who I have known for the past 4 years: taught him in grade 7, watched him grow from a wise-cracking 12 year-old goofball to a wise-cracking 16 year-old goofball.

He tells me I am a teenager.

According to him, I have all the characteristics of a teenager: I often feel lazy (check), I go home to veg in front of the comp or the tv (check), I like playing video games (check) and I enjoy sleeping in on Saturdays (check).

I guess there are more teenagers out there than I thought.

On a more pleasant note, I announced to another kid that he got 71 in MRE. He was happy, really happy, which made me happy. If I had the means, I'd bottle that feeling up and sell it to all the poor shleps out there who wake up feeling crappy every morning. That feeling is one of the reasons I truly enjoy teaching.

Monday musings

Apparently, today is the most depressing day of the year. Hoo-boy. If it's that depressing, why did our principal just suspended 10 kids for acting like fudgin' animals?

"Pity us... we are so depressed... we act like this because we are depressed"

Must be all the ritalin they're taking.

Blarg...

Just trying out this thing... it will be very likely that I will hardly ever post here, and update it and do all the stuff that I should do to keep this current (kinda like my web page... it will have activities for my students, shedules, homework! suuuuure...)
